Historian Jim Gibbons will explain the socioeconomic and political impact of the 1980s. Gibbons will discuss the end of the Cold War, nuclear threats, and President Ronald Reagan’s famous words, “….Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!”  From the fall of the Berlin Wall to the rise of the World Wide Web, from fanny packs to hair spray, this was the 1980s!
