The Library makes a variety of rooms available to BALibrary cardholders for study, individual/collaborative work, meetings, and other types of events. Rooms are classified as Meeting Rooms or Study Rooms, depending on size. Rooms are free of charge (some additional services may require a fee) and available during regular Library hours. Requests must be made through the online reservation system.
Study Rooms: smaller rooms that can accommodate 1-10 attendees, depending on the room. BALibrary cardholders may reserve rooms for up to two hours, one week in advance, with a two-hour extension available if the room is not reserved by another cardholder. Reciprocal borrowers (who have registered another library card with BALibrary) may use a study room for one hour on a walk-in basis and may renew the room for a second one-hour time slot if it has not been reserved by a BALibrary cardholder. Reserving customers agree to follow all policies related to Study Rooms.
Meeting Rooms: larger rooms that can accommodate 10-192 attendees, depending on the room and configuration. BALibrary cardholders may reserve these rooms a minimum of twenty-four hours and up to two months in advance. The current month and the following month are available for Meeting Room bookings. Reserving customers agree to follow all policies related to Meeting Rooms. District staff will review reservation requests for compliance with this policy and reserve the right to request additional information from reserving cardholders. Requesting cardholders will be sent an email to confirm or deny reservation requests after the review process is complete.
Meeting Rooms are available for reservation during the following time slots:
- Monday through Friday: 9 AM–12 PM, 1–5 PM, and 6–9 PM
- Saturday: 9 AM–12 PM and 1–5 PM
- Sunday: 1–5 PM
If a customer wishes to reserve a room across multiple time slots, separate reservations must be made for each slot.
