Barrington Area Library Closed From 9 PM, Friday, March 13, 2020, Until Further Notice

As a precautionary response to coronavirus (COVID-19), the Barrington Area Library will be temporarily closed to public entry from 9 PM, Friday, March 13, 2020, until further notice. This decision is based on guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control, the Illinois Department of Public Health, and local health departments, which cite social distancing and event cancellations as effective means for preventing the spread of disease. Reserve a Room

The Library makes a wide variety of rooms available for individual/collaborative work, study, meetings, and other types of events. Rooms are free of charge (some additional services may require a fee) and available during regular Library hours. Requests must be made through the online reservation system, and making a reservation confirms that the customer booking the room understands and agrees to all Barrington Area Library policies regarding meeting and study rooms. The Meeting Room and Zimmerman Room are provided to the following groups if the adult customer booking the room is a Barrington Area Library cardholder in good standing:

  • Local clubs, organizations, or groups engaged in civic, cultural, or educational
  • Governmental bodies located within the Barrington Public Library District.
  • Businesses, tax-exempt non-profit organizations, or professional associations
    located within the Barrington Public Library District.
