Learn defensive driving methods, exercises, and safety strategies during AARP’s two-day seminar, based on the most current safety research. Some insurance companies offer drivers a discount upon completion. Both Friday and Saturday session are required for completion.
To cover the costs of required materials, the course fee is $20 for the general public and $15 for AARP members. Checks should be made payable to Barrington Area Council on Aging (BACOA) and mailed to BACOA, Attn: Cindy, 6000 Garlands Ln, Suite 100, Barrington IL 60010. The Barrington Police Department is offering free vehicle safety checks on Saturday, Oct 12, from 9 AM – 12 PM. Attendees will receive a list of concerns to take to their mechanic. Vehicle safety check is open to all, regardless of enrollment in Smart Driver course.
