A discussion and celebration of the 2021 Caldecott Medal winning book, We Are Water Protectors, by Carole Lindstrom and Michaela Goade. Read the book as a family, then come for a lively discussion and art project. Copies of the book are available at the Youth Services Desk. Meeting Room. Register one name per family.
When a black snake threatens to destroy the Earth and poison her people’s water, one young water protector takes a stand to defend Earth’s most sacred resource. Inspired by the many Indigenous-led movements across North America, this bold and lyrical picture book issues an urgent rallying cry to safeguard the Earth’s water from harm and corruption.
Masks are now optional, but recommended, at the Barrington Area Library. The Library will continue to prioritize safety precautions during indoor programs, including reduced capacity and physical distancing.
